Elizabeths Milestone’s 10 months to 16 months of age
Major Milestones for Elizabeth these last 6 months.
She is now sitting up on her own and is bum shuffling however not crawling on her knees. Is able to drink her bottle on her own with no assistance from us and wants to put the lid back on when she has finished. Elizabeth is now recognising more and is mimicking everything that we do. She is also able to attempt to feed herself, finger foods are a blessing but dinners can get messy. Elizabeth is also more creative, wanting to draw lines with different crayons and loves reading books. She has now discovered throwing her toys on the floor is fun followed by her food and water bottle. I have now decided that im going to invent a imaginary catchment net next to her high chair that can collect all the objects Elizabeth throws on the floor :) hahaha Elizabeth is now standing holding on to the bars in her playpen making sure she goes around clockwise and anticlockwise. She loves it and gets upset if you assist her to sit back down as she loves the fact that she can control her steps. Elizabeth isnt walking on her own as yet, however will be running after she has the next op. Elizabeth loves Dora the Explorer, and cracks up laughing when she watches a show that is funny. She actually can distinguish what is funny, sad, exciting etc When Leslie asks Elizabeth for a Kiss she leans over and goes Muahhh and kisses his cheeks while closing her eyes. Its so cute to see her affectionate side. At one stage she was giving us cuddles but will only now give them when she wants too. When the doorbell rings she looks up to the monitor to see who it is and says “who is it” in baby talk. Elizabeth is saying “TA” when she shares her toys etc, However when she says ta, ta, ta and you have it in your hand this means she wants you to give it back to her. She loves going for walks and enjoys watching the cars driving by.
Elizabeth is still attending Child care and loving it however is taking a Sabbatical while she is undergoing her next operation as she needs healing time, I can tell you that she is missing her peers very much. Elizabeth at the age of 11 months has stopped using her dummy’s (pacifiers) she was using them in the end to chew on as she has not stopped teething since 6 months of age and now has most of her teeth. She is just a little underweight for the average baby girl but nothing much to worry about at this stage. She is also having trauma nightmares again, this often happens just when she comes out of Hospital. She also isnt fond of anyone who is wearing a badge or wearing hospital clothing. I guess she is also recognising that when seeing these people it reminds her of pain that she endured in Hospital.
Overall Elizabeth is doing fantastic and is growing and developing extremely well.
