Results after Cardiac Catheterisation

Caridac Catheter 07-03-07

Today Elizabeth underwent a Cardiac Catheterisation again to check the pressures in the Heart.  Dr Cooper needed to get the most precise reading.  He performed the usual Cath however also needed to insert another fine tube up into Elizabeth’s Shunt that was put in when she was just 2 days old.  This procedure is dangerous as the Shunt could have blocked up.  When Dr Cooper informed us of the dangers involved we assured him that we have faith in him. I held Elizabeth into the prep room so they can put her to sleep, and gees isnt our girl a fiesty one.  Elizabeth was fighting the gas, kicking and squirming, the good thing about this is that she is a fighter and wants everyone to know it.  The opertation takes about 1 hour so we went and had a nice strong Coffee.

GREAT NEWS -  When Elizabeth had her last op they had to abort and restitch her as the pressure in the heart was 20 after having this cath her pressure dropped down to around 13 which is fantastic news.  This means that Elizabeth can have the op that was scheduled to happen in November 2006 without the doctors going to Plan B.
I will have confirmation of these results and a set date or her Major Operation soon so I will keep you all informed.

Big thank you to - Dr Cooper, Dr Ben, all the Cardiology team, The Recovery Team and the staff at the Turner Ward. We appreciate all that you do for our daughter and all children for without you we wouldnt have these gorgeous little munchkins to cuddle everynight :)

While Elizabeth was in the recovery room Leslie was comforting her and I had to take this picture of them as they both fell asleep and looked too cute to resist.  :)  I had all the nurses in recovery telling me that I work him too hard !!!
