Elizabeth went to see her Cardiologist on the 9th August 2006 to see how well she is developing with the shunt and to decide when to have her next operation.  Dr Murphy was extremely happy on How healthy Elizabeth looks, however between the teo chambers of the heart were there is no wall some tissue has formed and is slowing down blood flow which in turn is making the heart work harder to get it going.  Elizabeth has also outgrown the shunt and will be having her next operation “Glenn Procedure” within the next 2-3 months.  Prior to the operation she will be having a ‘Cardiac Catheter” put in and is Booked in at The Childrens Hospital - Westmead.  The doctors will perform some tests to see what the pressure is like in the heart and also get more of an idea of whats going on inside her heart before they operate on her.  As far as I know, this operation will be done by the Cardilogist at Westmead.
